A floor plan explains the layout. Photographs reveal the atmosphere. Space Explorer brings both together in an interactive experience that visitors can explore at their own pace.

This self-initiated case study investigates a practical use case for property presentation: helping prospective tenants or buyers understand how rooms connect before arranging an on-site viewing.

The starting material was an architectural floor plan and a collection of 360° photographs, supplied without room labels or manually assigned positions. I used an AI-assisted development workflow to turn these materials into a custom browser application, shaping its interface, navigation and visual presentation.

The result combines 45 distinct 8K panoramic photographs across 34 linked viewpoints with an interactive 3D overview. Visitors can look around the photographed interiors, move between viewpoints and switch to the model to understand the overall arrangement.

The two views serve different purposes. The photographic tour shows the recorded interiors; the approximate 3D model interprets the supplied floor plan, with photographs informing furnishings and finishes. It is a spatial visualisation, rather than a measured 3D scan.

Built with Three.js and deployed independently on Netlify, the application runs in a web browser and can be embedded into an existing website. Development was guided through ChatGPT, without a connected Blender or Unreal Engine workflow.

For me, the interesting outcome is the ability to shape the entire viewing experience around the material and its intended use—from spatial orientation to the interface through which people explore it.
