Gradient Builder is an interactive design tool I developed for experimenting with static and animated gradients, typography, and images. From smooth mesh gradients to vibrant aurora effects, it allows you to create unique backgrounds and visual compositions for websites, social media, and presentations.

The idea: Colors should be directly controllable within the image. Move color points, try out combinations, and see the effect instantly—this is how a palette becomes your own visual language. Presets provide a starting point; a collection of traditional Japanese colors offers additional inspiration.

Different gradient styles such as Flow, Sky, Aurora, Watercolors, Mesh, and Glow open up a range of expressive possibilities. Text can be styled with different fonts and freely positioned. You can overlay your own photos or textures onto the gradient and adjust their opacity and blending modes. Movement is also part of the design possibilities: For example, Forms offers animated compositions that can be exported as MP4 videos. Designs can be saved and previewed.

For further use, JPEG, SVG, and MP4 formats are available, as well as HTML, CSS, JSON, and React. Depending on the output, you can choose predefined sizes such as 4K Square, XL, Full HD, and Instagram Post, or create your own custom dimensions. Color names can be displayed during the download process. This allows you to reuse your design as an image, a moving background, or within a web project.

Whether as an atmospheric background for a landing page, a stage for a product message, or a standalone visual: Gradient Builder makes color design immediate and encourages you to explore your own combinations.
